About the work: The picture shows a metaphor for physical wounds. How often do we hear about casualties on the news? They are most often mentioned as a number; number of dead. But how many people know what the worst wounds look like?

What is it like to be hit by shrapnel in the stomach? What is it like to have a limb ripped off by a bomb? What is it like to be dug out of a building that has collapsed after bombing? What does a soft and vulnerable human body look like when it has been exposed to acts of war? Burns?

Second and third degree burns with blisters and skin that melts off?
