About the work: The picture is about refugees and the new environment they become a part of. A living plant grows along a wall it leans against. There are two obviously foreign elements that exist closely together. We are that the plant has received a good number of scars. Half of it is literally colored by its new surroundings.

Nikita Solenov

Nikita Solenov is a passionate photo artist, inspired and driven by a deep inner rebellion and a desire to challenge. A rootless upbringing that started in the Soviet Union, youth in a small settlement in Western Norway and work as a photojournalist at home and abroad, has given Nikita a unique and contrasting life experience - something that is reflected in his work.
