Classroom Battle

The picture is about the focus in the classroom, and the uneasiness that arises when you have to sit still. It shows how fantasy and the real world collide. The idea behind the picture came during an examination for ADHD, where one gets many questions about childhood.

The question that started the whole process was: Who were you in the classroom? The robot represents the feeling of not being understood, while the hands show the frustration of two different teachers.

Johnny Ventura

For me, art is a way to return to my childhood imagination. Through Johnny Ventura's universe, the characters that have been with me all my life are given new life. The characters represent people I've met, feelings I've experienced, and memories of growing up in a small village deep in the Sognefjord.

The pictures act as a large memory bank, filled with small stories and reflections. I draw to explore and give meaning to these memories, and hope that they can awaken something in the viewer - a reminder that we all carry stories from childhood with us.
