Arild Heitmann

Arild Heitmann is a photographer from northern Norway who has a major focus on arctic landscape photography. His passion for photography started when he bought an affordable DSLR camera to document fishing experiences in the mountains. This experience led to a deep love for photography, and he has since become a dedicated and talented photographer who is inspired by the beautiful landscapes around him.

Heitmann believes that his upbringing and current life in northern Norway have had a significant impact on his photographs. He finds great joy in exploring the mountains and landscapes near his childhood home. These areas have shaped his artistic vision more than anything else, and this is reflected in the images he creates. One of Heitmann's notable publications is the book "HOME". This book is the result of his exploration of nature in his home region. It takes readers on a journey through all seasons, from the cold grip of winter in January to the warm, endless summer nights and the exploding autumn colors before darkness returns. The book contains a collection of simple but spectacular images that take you to a place filled with mystery and beauty. "Heime" shows a total of 205 pictures spread over 252 pages, of which 140 of them have never been shown before. The book is printed on heavy art paper and requires a slow approach to really appreciate the images. It also contains a foreword by Trym Ivar Bergsmo, who reflects on the importance of the landscapes we grow up in and how photographs can recall these memories and the sense of identity and belonging.

Arild Heitmann continues to explore and capture the beauty of Arctic nature through his photography. With his dedication and passion, he continues to create impressive images that touch the viewer's senses and convey the unique magic of Northern Norway's landscape.
