"Color Me Softly" brings together photographs by Kathleen McIntyre, whose ingenious layout with a color scale is revealed when looking at the Japanese-bound, closed book from the side. An extended version of a diptych, the juxtaposition of images creates a dialogue and a space between the images that opens up for personal interpretation. "With this book, I want to give room for contemplation and imagination." Originally from California, Kathleen McIntyre moved to Norway at a young age. The cultural transition and the need to adapt to a new language led her to develop a close relationship with her camera, becoming more of an observer than a speaker. "For me, seeing is a conscious choice in the pursuit of what is not obviously present. All the layers come together in my viewfinder, and what you see is what I saw.”
