About the artist
Born is an Oslo-based photographer from Mo i Rana. The choice to photograph in nature gives Born endless possibilities. Nude photography in nature opens up for play and extension of lines found in the landscape. He also loves the unpredictability of nature, with changing moods and the incredible light. Although Born appreciates the control he has in the studio, if he had to make an eternal choice between the two, he would choose nature.

The pictures in the series "Earthshapes" are mainly taken in Rana and its surroundings, but there is no invariable rule. Born has also taken photos at Sognsvann and in the Botanical Garden in Oslo as part of the project. He has a special fondness for islands and their unique character, which is clearly reflected in his work. Through carefully chosen angles, the use of light and shadow, and an impressive ability to capture the moment, Born manages to convey the magical atmosphere found in these places.
One of Born's strengths as a photographer is the ability to create strong contrasts in his images. This tool is used to convey emotions and set a mood that captures the viewer's attention.
