25.09 – 12.10: Ken Opprann and Tom Martinsen

Joint exhibition: Ken Opprann & Tom Martinsen
25 September – 12 October 2025, DÁIDDA

In October, DÁIDDA presents a joint exhibition with two of Norway's most renowned photographers – Tom Martinsen and Ken Opprann .
Together they have over 65 years of experience as photojournalists and documentary photographers. Both have traveled the world and documented everything from war zones to royal houses and current social issues. Although they never collaborated, they have often created images that can be experienced as mirror images of each other. Many of the photographs on display have never before been shown publicly. The works are printed on baryta paper.

Tom Martinsen (1943–2007)
Martinsen was a regular photographer at Dagbladet from 1972 until his death. He received the Fritt Ord Honorary Award for his unique contribution to Norwegian press, documentary and art photography. He won "Picture of the Year" in 1972 and later became an honorary member of the Press Photographers' Club. He exhibited at Galleri Camera Obscura in Stockholm (1982) and the India Fine Arts & Crafts Society in New Delhi (1984), among others.

Ken Opprann (b. 1964)
Opprann has been a freelance photographer based in Oslo since 1995. He won "Picture of the Year" in 2001, awarded by the Press Photographers' Club, and was the official photographer for the Nobel Peace Prize from 2006 to 2020. He has exhibited on four continents, including during the FIFA World Cup in South Africa (2010), at the Foreign Correspondents Club in Phnom Penh (2006) and Interfaith Kosovo (2014).
