Recently, due to a change in lifestyle and a significant injury, I finally felt it was time to draw (again) as a way to recover my identity and find balance.

There are no practices here. No "mulligans." Each drawing is a first attempt, created almost entirely from memory using only permanent media on paper from the hotel front desk. There is no pencil or eraser. Rulers are rarely used; if there is line work, it is guided by makeshift items found nearby. The finality of these works is both its beauty and curse – nothing is perfect – be careful not to overdo a correction on a mistake but also answer with contrast and creativeness to have – just – enough detail.

Each piece was created as a thank you to the people who hosted me during my travels. Their generosity and refusal for money or gifts was almost certain, but art seemed to always be appropriate; especially when it was something I saw and was local.

Please enjoy these experiments and gifts; they were calming for me in a time of storms.
